SLOK [Short Biography]
The Italian SLOK consider himself more a great pasta chef than an underground
contemporary electronic music artist...by the way, he had big
influence on the italian Breakbeat, Drum'n'Bass and Jungle scene with
his two debut albums 'They Call it Jungle' and 'Freak 2000', both
produced for the renowned Irma Records. After a natural change to
electronic and 'Personal House Music' beats and sounds in 2006,
the international club hit 'Lonely Child', released with the
collaboration of Satoshi Tomiie & Hector Romero's SAW
Recordings label (DEFMIX Production), boosted his musical career
quickly. His discography also includes releases and remixes on hi
profile records labels like Get Physical Music, My Favorite
Robot, Circle Music, Turbo, OM, Plastic Fantastic
(Stereonova), Futic Tokyo and many more. He currently runs on his own
imprint Electronic Petz, a structure created for support brand
new talented electronic music minds. In 2010 he released two
different albums: 'RAIN', on Alex Flatner's label Circle Music
Germany, and 'The Fat Pasta Grooves' on Electronic Petz.

SLOK - Rocco's Hard Scene (12" EP) (Incl. Hermanez Remix) - Circle

his latest Album "Rain" Paris based DJ and producer Alessandro Russo
aka Slok was able to follow up in quality and complexity to his in 2009
released tracks "Freak" and "Funky Fingers" on Circle Digital this
year. Now he comes around with his next tune "Rocco's Hard Scene".
Hermanez, who recently rocked Circle Music with his "Locomotive/Snarey
Business" release produced the ten minutes monster remix.

A1 – Rocco's Hard Scene: "Rocco's
Hard Scene" aims at the heart of the dancefloors. It is quite obvious
that the arrangement reminds to the big epoch of disco. With the funky
e-bass and rhythmic guitar samples Slok, who had big influence on the
italian Jungle scene by the way, again shows his instinct for accurate
tracks in which he is able to move free with his intentions. Slok
converts the sound of the 70ies into the sound of 2010.
A2
– Rocco's Hard Scene Part Two: What
he did in "Rocco's Hard Scene" Alessandro Russo pushes to the next
level in "Rocco's Hard Scene Part Two". This time the man who is the
founder of the Electronic Petz imprint and one head behind Stereonova
goes straight forward with a juicy melody and spoken vocals. Again a
very funky bassline leads through the fleet-footed arrangement and
grounds all the ecstatic elements.
B
– Rocco's Hard Scene (Hermanez Remix): In
his remix Hermanez does what he already did in his "Do You Cydonia"
release on Kling Klong and his "Locomotive/Snarey Business" release on
Circle Music of course: Creating breathless and progressive tech house
music. His remix is a firework of ideas, emotions and levels. He takes
the intention of the original track and converts it directly to the
sound of these days.

SLOK - RAIN (Album) - Circle Music
Germany In
2009 Italian born and Paris based producer and DJ Slok who had big
influence on the italian Breakbeat, Drum'n'Bass and Jungle scene
already had two releases on Circle Music: “Freak” and “Funky Fingers”.
Now, Circle Music is very happy about to welcome him again with his
next Album “Rain”.
With the eleven tracks of this album
Slok who is also one of the man behind Stereonova, presents his wide
range of production facilities. Mostly the very native tracks lay their
focus on the rhythms and percussions where Alessandro Russo aka Slok
shows his very precise instinct concerning basses, kicks, highs and all
the other percussion elements. It is absolutely exciting to dive deeper
into the rhythmic architecture of the rhythmic buildings. But there is
more to explore, of course. Slok, who released tracks on labels like
SAW, Get Physical, King Kong, Baroque or Turbo is able to play with
styles light-handedly. Between deep or funky, tribal or minimal, with
vocals like the 3rd single including on this new album 'Waiting For
Rain To Fall' feat. My Favorite Robot, or not there is no long distance
existing for Alessandro who is also releasing on his own label
Electronic Petz. Furthermore this absolutely eclectic tech house album
convinces with breezy and descreet melodies and maybe this longplayer
contains a hit like Slok's “Lonely Child” was in 2005. Who knows...
